Access for All Abilities.
The Access for All Abilities Program is a State Government funded program which aims to build the capacity of the sport & recreation sector to provide increased active participation opportunities for people of all abilities.
The Southern Access for All Abilities Network is a group of providers who meet regularly to discuss their achievements and issues. The network also collaborates with State Sporting Organisations on certain projects with regional significance. Current projects involve Lawn Bowls, Basketball and Cricket.

CAE Centre for Adult Education
As an Adult Education Institution, CAE exists to provide learning to the Victorian community through a wide range of programs and services. CAE receives government funding through the Adult Community and Further Education Division (ACFE). Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres are information centres for older people, people with disabilities and those who provide care and services. Compass Clubhouse Melbourne Citymission
Compass Clubhouse, is based in Northcote but open to participants from all regions, is operated by and for adults who have experienced an acquired brain injury (who are known as the members). It is a place where members can develop self-confidence, a sense of community and belonging. Staff work alongside members. Membership is open to adults:
- who have an Acquired Brain Injury
- are free of alcohol or non-prescription drugs
- not considered a threat to themselves or others
- willing to attend the Clubhouse a minimum of one day per week
- willing to participate in a work ordered day
- able to arrange their own transport
- who have a healthy respect of self and others
- Are reasonably independent in self care, and
- Are willing and able to follow Clubhouse standards.

Neighbourhood / Community Houses
ANHLC – Association of Neighbourhood Houses & Learning Centres
Neighbourhood Houses are known by many different names. These names include; Community Houses, Living and Learning Centres, Neighbourhood Centres or Learning Centres! Whatever the name these places are local organisations that provide social, educational and recreational activities for their communities in a welcoming supportive environment. There are approximately 360 Neighbourhood Houses across Victoria with at least one Neighbourhood House in just about every town and suburb in Victoria. Neighbourhood Houses are managed by volunteer committees and paid staff. They offer many opportunities for volunteer participation in all aspects of the house activities and management. Good quality affordable childcare and playgroups are offered at most houses. Activities are generally run at low or no cost to participants.

Wesley Mission has an extensive range of services available in the Southern Metro Region of Melbourne including education, training, recreation, leisure and respite programs for people with a disability; the details are listed below.

Adult Training Support services
At Wesley ATSS, the program delivery is tailored to address each individuals needs as identified through discussions with the individual, their family and carers.
The service accesses a wide range of community facilities and venues in the delivery of the program and activities. In addition the facilities at the centre have been developed to meet the needs of all people with disability.
The majority of programs and activities are provided in small groups. Should a person require more individualised service then this can be negotiated between the client and carer, Wesley and DHS
Wesley Community Access Planner
A therapy service assisting people with Acquired Brain Injury or disabilities to participate in their chosen recreation activities. This is a fee for service program that supports individuals to successfully link into chosen community recreation options.
Features & benefits of the program include; regional wide Community Access Planners, individual community recreation support, extensive networking contacts within the disability sector, facilitated by staff with years of experience in the disability sector, recreation qualifications and expertise in working with people who have Acquired Brain Injury. Clients are assured of receive an efficient service and funding will be utilised in consultation with the funding body.
Connect South
Wesley provides an innovative service for people with an acquired brain injury living in the Southern Region of Melbourne. The program provides individual, flexible support to enhance people’s skill development and community participation. The program aims to assist people with an ABI to: Increase social connections, be part of their community, develop skills and abilities and transition into mainstream activities. The service provides a large variety of community based group programs and works in partnership with community based groups, clubs & organisations to deliver creative group programs.
Connecting Communities
Wesley Connecting Communities programs enhance the quality of life for people with high support needs by offering a range of flexible, skill-based community activities that are responsive to individual needs and capabilities. Benefits and features of the program include; flexible hours and needs-based support, a wide range of activities including community based activities, motivated and trained staff, transport to and from activities and individual assessments including recommendations.
Activities incur a core hourly rate, which covers networking, organisation, planning of programs and staff support. Each participant will incur a term fee.
Kids Under Kanvas
Wesley Kids Under Kanvas provides young people (aged 8-25), with a disability, the opportunity to participate in recreation and camping activities which develop new skills and self-confidence.
Specially selected volunteer leaders are trained to provide the safest environment and supportive encouragement for the development of group skills and self-confidence for young people.
Shared Supported Holidays
Organised supported holidays for people with a disability that focus on matching the right individual for holidays. This ensures client choice and positive outcomes.
ABI Holidays are run in conjunction with external partners; these holidays are open to anyone with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Specialised staff with experience in ABI provide support to all participants. Holiday programs are flexible and the schedule is designed by participants.

Our services are available for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities.
